JAMMU DISTRICT

 Jammu District is a district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the largest district in the Jammu division and serves as the administrative headquarters of the division.

The district is situated in the southern part of the Jammu division and covers an area of approximately 3,097 square kilometers. It is bounded by the district of Samba to the northwest, Kathua district to the east, Udhampur district to the northeast, Reasi district to the north, and the border with Pakistan-administered Kashmir to the west.

Jammu District is divided into six tehsils and fourteen blocks, with Jammu city being the main urban center of the district. The district has a diverse population, with people from various religions and ethnicities residing here. The major languages spoken in the district are Dogri, Hindi, and English.

The economy of Jammu District is primarily based on agriculture, with crops like wheat, maize, and rice being the main agricultural products. The district is also home to several industries, including the manufacturing of textiles, paper, cement, and other goods.
