Jammu is a city in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the largest city in the Jammu division and the winter capital of the state. The city is situated on the banks of the Tawi River and is surrounded by the Shivalik range to the north and east, and the Trikuta Mountains to the south-west.

Jammu is an important center for education, commerce, and tourism in the region. The city is home to many historical temples and shrines, including the famous Vaishno Devi shrine, which is visited by millions of pilgrims every year. Other popular tourist attractions in Jammu include the Raghunath Temple, Bahu Fort, Amar Mahal Palace Museum, and the Dogra Art Museum.

The climate in Jammu is hot and dry during summers, while winters are chilly with occasional snowfall. The city is well connected by road, rail, and air, and the Jammu Tawi railway station is an important railway junction in North India.
